Default Our yard in the winter in Southern California

My wife and I are plant nuts and have been for years, so I thought I would show off our yard. We moved to this house 3 years ago and ripped out most of lawn and other plants that were not wanted. All of back yard is brick pavers so no dirt area to plant, so I pulled up some bricks in areas and made raised beds out of them and a little morter. We also built a shade structure to hold our orchids and tropicals, till we built a greenhouse which we did 2 years ago.
In the second pic. there are petunias, pansys, stock and a daffidill all in bloom at the same time, the petunia looks better now then in the hot summer.

The red tree in forground in called Sticks on fire, Euphorbia tirucalli, A great drought tollerent plant, I had that in a pot for about 5 years and it stayed small, but when I put it in the ground 3 years ago, she took off, now over 7 feet tall and about 3' wide. Easy to make cuttings. Only red in full sun and mostly fall-spring, more green in summer.

Be warned that this plant can get over 25' tall and 10' round, but with the right pruning it can be kept in check. Maybe?
